Immediate opening for a Research Technician in the primary culture assay development group
Duties:
- Dissection of striatal and cortical tissue from embryonic rats and mice
- Primary culture of rodent striatal and cortical neurons and astroglia
-Transfection and transduction of primary neurons
-Use of automated liquid handling instruments to dispense cells and solutions into multiwell plates
-Plasmid preparation, cloning, PCR and genotyping
-Preparation of lab reagent stocks and media
-Supply ordering
-Data analysis and presentation of experimental results at internal meetings
Qualifications: Background should include a B.S. in Biology, Biochemistry or related field and some laboratory experience in academic and/or industrial research >setting. Experience with tissue dissection and culturing of primary cells, preferably neuronal, is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills >including the ability to work in a team environment are essential.
