Neurobiology Photography Contest

Wednesday, January 10, 2018

The Neurobiology Photography Contest is an opportunity for the Duke community to display neuroscience-related images in the newly renovated administrative suite in the Bryan Research Building.

The competition is open to the Duke community, including all faculty, staff, students, post-docs, and alumni.

The deadline for submitting your computer-generated image(s) is February 28, 2018.

Image Criteria

We encourage creativity in both images and titles. Images may portray people involved in neuroscience or capture the beauty in neuroscience.

Image Submissions

You may submit up to 3 high-resolution images, and all images must be in JPG format. Each submission should include a written statement describing what the image is, how the image was created, and how the image relates to neuroscience. All images must be submitted by the photographer/creator. Please upload your image(s) to Box in the highest resolution of the original image and your written statement, and share the folder with Alissa Kocer.

The four best images will be both displayed on the Neurobiology website and exhibited in Neurobiology administrative offices in the Bryan Research Building. First, second and third place winners will also receive gift certificates of $100, $50 and $25 respectively.

Intellectual Property Rights

Each entrant shall retain ownership of all intellectual property rights in the entry. However, by entering the contest, entrants grant to Duke Neurobiology and Duke University a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to exhibit the images on Neurobiology’s website and in its offices; to use the images in its program marketing materials; and to modify the images, but only to the extent required to fit the format for web pages and marketing materials. Duke Neurobiology will not commercially exploit the images, and all commercial rights remain with entrants.
