Understanding the Association between Racism and Substance Use among Black People

Dr. Angela Haeny is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Haeny is committed to eliminating racial disparities and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Broadly, her research addresses racial disparities in substance use disorder treatment. Her talk will provide a brief overview of racism, related terminology, and race-related stress and trauma, and some of her research examining substance use outcomes among Black people will be shared.
