Alex Vaz awarded Bill Hall Prize

Alex Vaz, PhD, a recent Neurobiology alum, received the Bill Hill Prize for Excellence in Graduate Student Research on Friday, August 27. The award honors William C. Hall, a former primary faculty member of the Department of Neurobiology. Alex pursued his PhD under the mentorship of Nicolas Brunel, and successfully defended his dissertation An electrophysiological basis for human memory in April of 2021. He is currently working on his MD at Duke while contributing to the functional neurosurgery research of the Zaghloul Lab at NIH/NINDS. More on Alex's research
