A new study from Alex Vaz and Nicolas Brunel finds that just before the brain successfully retrieves a memory, “ripples” in the brain’s medial temporal lobe couple with similar oscillations in the temporal association cortex. This study also caught the eye of Francis Collins, Director of NIH who wrote about it in the NIH Director’s Blog.
