New article in eLife from Josh Huang and collaborators

A team led by Josh Huang and first author Ricardo Raudales has developed a novel genetic strategy for comprehensive labeling of axo-axonic cells, also known as chandelier cells, in the mouse brain.. The article, Specific and comprehensive genetic targeting reveals brain-wide distribution and synaptic input patterns of GABAergic axo-axonic interneurons, shows that chandelier cells are much more widely distributed across brain regions than previously thought, and thus sheds additional light on the anatomical and functional organization of the brain's neural circuits.
