Southwell Wins NIH New Innovator Award

Congratulations to Neurobiology training faculty member Derek Southwell who has been chosen to receive the NIH Director’s New Innovator Award from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He has been awarded $1.5 million to fund his project, “Exploring cortical inhibitory circuit design in the human brain,” which will investigate the cellular properties and circuit functions of human cortical interneurons.
