Study by Kantor and Chiba-Falek details new epigenetic therapy that reduces APOE, delaying or preventing late onset Alzheimer's

Research shows that carrying the APOE e4 variant significantly increases lifetime risk for late-onset Alzheimer's disease, and additional evidence suggests that lowering the variant expression may be a promising therapeutic target for the disease. A recent study by Neurobiology's Boris Kantor and Neurology's Ornit Chiba-Falek details how an epigenetic therapy reduces APOE levels in mice, pointing to a possible translational therapy that could prevent or delay late-onset Alzheimer's disease.
