Alumna Thuy (Twee) Hua, PhD (Wang Lab) has been awarded the 2020 Bill Hall Prize for Excellence in Graduate Student Research. Twee's four years of research at Duke culminated with her first author status on “General Anesthetics Activate a Potent Central Pain-Suppression Circuit in The Amygdala,” presented as her dissertation thesis and published in Nature in May. This annual award of $1000 was established by Terry Wu, a former postdoctoral student of William Charles Hall, professor emeritus of neurobiology.
